Election Day is Tomorrow...

The best thing I can imagine doing is going out and casting a vote for the Libertarian candidate (Badnarik); if you're on this website, odds are that you probably don't feel too differently.

Follow your heart and mind, vote or not, and let's get on with Life As We Know It (TM).

Tim, while I will not be voting due to personal philosophical reasons (anarchism), I have managed to influence my parents into voting (at least) for Badnarik. So, I have two California Bush votes (for whatever that is worth) going to a Libertarian this year.

Also, it is too bad you are not letting comments onto your Tuesday post concerning voting IDs, but my parents tell me that they were also not required to present identification upon arrival at their polling place today. So, I suppose this has a lot to do with the immigrant population in California, though I can't imagine what gives back in my old homestate of IL?

Chris,

I certainly respect your right to go without voting - frankly, I wish more people thought this way. The entire premise bothers me a bit: if your candidate wins, you consent. If not, you consent. If you don't vote, you consent. Not really much of a contest or choice at all, come down to it.

As to the ID issue: I just can't imagine why anyone walking in with a name is permitted to vote, so long as that name is on the list. Who the heck says that I'm me? I could be stealing another's vote just as easily, and this might not be noticed at all unless they attempt to vote as well. It's just asking for trouble...
